Threadlocking and Mechanical Fastening

Why threadlockers exist

Vibration loosens conventional fasteners over time. Threadlockers cure anaerobically inside the joint, locking the assembly against rotation.

Choosing a threadlocker

Match strength, fastener material, service temperature and disassembly requirements to manufacturer documentation. Validate suitability before use.

When mechanical locking still wins

For very large bolts or where complete disassembly is frequent, a serrated washer or castellated nut may still be the right answer.
